The Association of Vascular and Interventional Radiographers has been a powerful advocate for the special interests and concerns of healthcare professionals working in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. The AVIR has recognized the financial need for our current members and non-members within our field.
The Izzy Ramaswamy Professional Development Scholarship is in honor of our colleague, AVIR member, past AVIR President and friend. Mr. Ramaswamy has dedicated his career and personal time to the Interventional Radiology profession for many years and for that AVIR would like to continue his legacy with offering a scholarship in his name.
This scholarship honors those who are dedicated to advancing the education and professional development of Interventional Radiology technologists and students—and to strengthening the profession through their knowledge, involvement, and commitment to others.
Created to celebrate a commitment to excellence and continued growth, this scholarship recognizes individuals who demonstrate a passion for learning, service, and leadership within the Interventional Radiology community.
This award provides selected applicants or non-members a 1 year membership with the Association of Vascular and Interventional Radiographers, valued at $95.00 US each.
Scholarship/Award Eligibility
• Candidates must be currently working within an Interventional Radiology Department, retired from an Interventional Radiology Department or have interest in becoming an Interventional Radiology Technologist, Nurse, or Physician.
• Candidates must be a current AVIR member or non-member prior to applying for a scholarship/award.
All scholarship recommendations made by the Scholarship Committee are subject to final approval by the Board of Directors. AVIR does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, religion, gender, or physical/mental disabilities. The association of Vascular and Interventional Radiographers has no affiliation with other insinuations that also offer scholarship programs.
Previous applications are eligible to reapply each year in open competition with new applications for the Izzy Ramaswamy Professional Development Scholarship. AVIR reserves the right not to award scholarships/awards at all in any given year.
